To celebrate his birthday, Philip is planning a unique event.

We will meet at The Ritz, Paris on May 17th, 2019 for refreshments prior to boarding the Orient Express for a 1920’s style evening overnight to Venice.

On May 18th after checking into the Cipriani Hotel we will celebrate Philip’s birthday at a Venetian ball.

May 19th will be spent sightseeing or simply recovering. For those who have the time it would be our pleasure to invite you to spend a second night at the Cipriani as Philip’s guest.

After high tea and cocktails at the The Ritz, Paris we will transfer to Gare de l’Est  train station to board the Venice Simplon Orient Express bound for Venice.
The VSOE is a stunningly refurbished train from the 20’s providing luxury 5 star service.
The journey from Paris to Venice takes about 20 hours. Dinner will be served in 2 sittings followed by drinks and a 1920’s style party spread over 3 cars.
In the morning a continental breakfast will be served in your compartment. Spend the day simply relaxing in your compartment, watching the Italian countryside roll by and enjoying lunch in the restaurant cars.
We will arrive in Venice at 4pm and transfer to the Cipriani Hotel.

Venice’s most fabled hideaway, Hotel Cipriani Venice

We are taking over the exclusive Belmond Hotel Cipriani for 2 nights. The hotel was opened in 1958 by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of Harry’s Bar in Venice and inventor of the Bellini cocktail. The hotel achieved instant acclaim. Although secluded, it is only 5 minutes from St Mark’s square.

Celebrate Philip’s birthday at a Venetian masquerade ball.

After checking in and relaxing , we will gather in the garden for a cocktail reception before the masquerade ball to celebrate Philip’s birthday. The ball will be held on the Cipriani property at The Granaries a sixteenth century former grain storage.
Expect a night of dinner, dancing and entertainment. For those energetic night owls the party will then continue at the poolside bar.

Spend Sunday seeing the sights of Venice or recovering by the pool.

After brunch simply relax by the pool or head into Venice. For those that need to go to work on Monday, boats are ready and waiting to take you to the airport. If you have the time, we invite you to stay another night at the Cipriani as Philip’s guest and join us for an informal dinner.
